The Austrian platform for research and technology policy evaluation (fteval) will publish the next issue of the „fteval Journal for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation” in fall 2017. Hereby we are launching the call for papers with focus on the evaluation of research in higher education systems. Among other topics in this field, we welcome contributions discussing, assessing or evaluating the consequences of the shift from ‘government to governance’ in the Higher Education and Academic Sector, the implications of governance reforms for academic research, changes in the academic knowledge production, evaluations of the institutional environment, ‘third mission’ activities and structures (e.g. evaluations in the field of knowledge transfer and relevant offices), and interesting evaluations regarding levels at different granularity such as individuals, research teams, departments, single universities or national higher education and research systems as such.
