For Authors

Publication in the fteval Journal is free of charge for authors. Each published article receives a DOI via crossref and is archived in the fteval repository. Unless otherwise agreed, all contributions are licensed as CC-BY 4.0 international. The authors retain the copyright without restrictions, but in the event of a reprint, it must be indicated that the first publication appeared in the fteval Journal.

Researchers and representatives from research and technology policy and research and technology administration are invited to submit written contributions (‘papers’) by email to the editors of the fteval Journal for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation (office@fteval.at). The contributions can be submitted either in German or English and – in the case of a positive evaluation – will also be published in the submitted language. However, in the interests of international reception, we would like to encourage publications in English.

All contributions are subject to an editorial review. Details on the peer review policy and our quality criteria can be found here: https://fteval.at/peer-review-policy/. The editorial board of the fteval Journal for Research and Technology Policy consists of a core team, which can be viewed here: https://fteval.at/editorial-board/. In addition, further experts may be consulted for reviews of special issues.

Submission Layout

The standard format for submissions is described here. Special issues may have different format specifications.

Length:

  • Praxis-oriented contributions: 4-10 pages of full text (max. 5,500 words)
  • Academic contributions: 6-15 pages of full text (max. 7,000 words)
  • Opinion papers: 4-8 pages of full text (max. 4,00 words)

Please submit your article via mail as MS Word or Open Document Text, including the following data:

  • Title and subtitle
  • Tables and figures: Submit your images as separate files in high definition or scalable format.
  • Footnotes at bottom of page
  • References at the end of the article
  • Recommended citiation style: APA 7th edition (no initials)
  • Author information:
    • full name
    • institution and address
    • e-mail
    • ORCID (if available. Free registration: https://orcid.org/)
  • ~5 author keywords in English (and also in German, if the article is in German)
  • Abstract in English (and also in German, if the article is in German)
