Austria’s universities of applied sciences (UAS) are celebrating their 30th anniversary and the fteval platform is celebrating with them! We are dedicating an entire special issue of the fteval Journal for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation to the development, planning and future prospects of applied research at universities of applied sciences, which was produced in co-operation with IMC Krems. Nine articles discuss the further development potential of research at universities of applied sciences, highlight narratives and present many examples of successful research collaborations and strategies. In addition, this time there is a magazine section with infographics, an interview with the Managing Director of IMC Krems, Udo Brändle, and a review of this year’s research forum of the Fachhochschulkonferenz.
