Together with the domestic economy, research and the people of Austria, we are finding innovative answers to the climate crisis, strengthening the economy and promoting quality of life and prosperity.

The European Community aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. This means that CO2 emissions will be reduced as far as possible and unavoidable emissions will be removed from the atmosphere through nature-based or technical measures. The Climate and Energy Fund supports this ambitious goal for Austria with its funding programs.

Our focus is on developing a climate-neutral economy and society by supporting the innovative strength of domestic companies. We are the first port of call for bringing climate innovations to the national and international market.

Our work is efficient and focussed. Our funding programmes accelerate the path of innovative solutions from research to the market. Specifically, since our foundation we have developed more than 60 programmes and funded more than 440,000 projects with a funding budget of EUR 3.7 billion to date. Around 50 experts currently work for the Climate and Energy Fund.
