The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)is the national funding agency for industrial research, development and innovation in Austria. As a „one-stop shop“ offering a diversified and targeted program portfolio, FFG gives Austrian businesses, research institutions and researchers quick and uncomplicated access to R&D funding and support. All FFG activities aim to strengthen Austria as a research and innovation centre on the global market.
FFG was founded in September 2004 and is wholly owned by the republic of Austria. The organisational structure of FFG is based on the areas of responsibility defined by the following five programme groups:
- General Programmes
- Structural Programmes
- Thematic Programmes
- European and International Programmes
- Aeronautics and Space Agency
Since international cooperation is particularly vital for smaller countries, if they are to maintain their position in the global marketplace, FFG supports Austrian research and university institutions, companies and other organizations in establishing and expanding cooperative relationships.
