Annual conference on mission-oriented research, technology, and innovation 2026 – Implementation with Impact
13. October 2026 @ 10:30 - 17:45
As a key fixture in Austria’s innovation system, the Annual Conference on Mission-Oriented Innovation Policy serves as a platform for exchange between research, practice, and policymaking. It provides an opportunity to stay informed about the progress of the national implementation of the EU Missions as well as broader developments in the field.
The event is organised on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Research, Science and Women.
The annual conference on mission-oriented research, technology, and innovation policy enters its next edition, continuing the dialogue on the implementation of European Missions in Austria. Building on previous experiences, the event once again brings together key stakeholders from research, public administration, industry, and civil society.
The focus will be on current developments, emerging perspectives, and shared questions surrounding the further advancement of mission-oriented approaches. The conference provides a platform to highlight progress, foster mutual learning, and explore future fields of action.
European Missions address major societal challenges – ranging from climate change and health to sustainable cities and ecosystems – and create new opportunities for innovation and cross-sectoral collaboration. The follow-up event builds on this momentum and invites participants to jointly shape new impulses for national implementation.
Participants can look forward to a diverse programme featuring inspiring contributions, interactive formats, and ample opportunities for networking. Further details on the thematic focus will be announced in due course.
